SFA’s Defense Products Division (DPD) is an ISO 9001:2000 certified manufacturing and technical research business activity providing design, development, prototyping, first article testing, and full-scale production of mobile support systems for U.S. Government and Industry customers.

Leveraging our systems design and engineering competencies, we specialize in quickly configuring and packaging mission and support systems of all types into tactical, rugged, and transportable shelters that support military and security operations. We build specialized shelter systems for emergency communications, security, force sustainment, and soldier support.

With the ongoing operational commitments of the U.S. Military in the global war on terror, our force sustainment and soldier support systems have been in great demand. We are proud of our systems that support and sustain our soldiers in the field.

These systems include containerized kitchens, latrines, batch laundries, field sanitation units, and tactical water purification systems.

Our manufacturing capabilities include sheet metal fabrication, welding, machining, systems integration and assembly, and material handling. Our engineering resources include Computer Aided Design (CAD), solid modeling, and finite element analysis. We perform configuration management activities in accordance with ISO 9001:2000 processes including document and data control, review, and approval. We maintain project folders for each new project that include design and development plans, design input requirements, design review plans, and design output validation plans. Our approach enables us to maintain adequate controls on the design, fabrication, and testing of production-like prototypes. Our prototypes are also adequate to validate design tests, environmental tests, and operational tests based on our past experience in manufacturing mobile support systems. SFA’s Defense Products Division is headquartered in Frederick, MD with additional facilities in Easton, MD. The Frederick facility totals 97,500 square feet, 87,025 of which is devoted to manufacturing. The Easton facility contains 194,000 square feet, of which 179,000 is dedicated to manufacturing.
